Dad was right, Maryland the "No Self Defense Allowed" liberal Democrat state was wrong, dead wrong as Maryland will not allow a law abiding citizen to smell a CCW permit unless your a court house crony of a sheriff or liquor store owner. Proper amounts of "Maryland Palm Grease" in the form of campaign donations are required as well. That's all in the Maryland tradition.
Maryland requires permits also to open carry, Banks and other places money is worth more then citizens lives according to the Liberal controlled State of Maryland.

In any event Virginias crime rates are lower then The "Free State" of Maryland, and some of that's because criminals know some Virginians are armed.

In Virginia schools are still Democrat Gun Free Kill zones for criminals. Yet across the street you can legally carry, what a farce Democrats make of this issue.
Pass the National CCW carry act congress! A CCW and training by the NRA would have been the ladies only chance if the killer had set his sights on her.

If your going to get a CCW its your responsibility to use it with proper care and training which is what Virginians have successfully done despite Democrats calls that the sky's would fall and NOVA and other urban areas would become the lands of the OK Corral when the CCW new laws were passed in 1995. Their cry's were totally unfounded and completely anti gun/ self defense ridiculous.

That newspaper had the chance to press charges against the shooter for threats made against the staff, but the decision makers elected to give the shooter a pass.
