CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) — Concrete panels installed in the $2.6 billion project extending the D.C. region’s Metrorail Silver Line to Dulles International Airport are not as durable as they should be.
Thousands of areas along the extension will need to be dealt with. And some of the concrete will need to be completely thrown out, despite being already installed.
CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) — Concrete panels installed in the $2.6 billion project extending the D.C. region’s Metrorail Silver Line to Dulles International Airport are not as durable as they should be.

This was not metros' first big mess up (not counting train accidents).
Around TYSON'S the TBM (tunnel boarding machine) drilled too close to the surface for the kind of soil and for the planned "structural support" (which depended upon the tunnel not bearing the weight without circumferencial support on walls).
The tunnel was made, but later the soil began sinking / issues began arising: and that section of METRO had to be DUG UP COMPLETELY AND REDONE.

THOUSANDS OF GOVERNMENT TAX MONEY PROJECTS (ROAD, BUILDINGS, ETC) GO ON AND YOU CAN'T FIND A LIST OF WHAT THEY FUCKED UP AND HOW MUCH THE TAX PAYER IS ON THE HOOK FOR.

Lots of false information in the original post.
1.) No metro tunnels are involved with the concrete issue.
2.) The concrete issue is in prefabricated panels
3.) The contractor will be paying for replacement or other repairs.
4.) Metro is NOT building the Silver Line. MWAA is building the Silver Line to WMATA specifications. WMATA's involvement other than construction inspections will begin when the line is built and WMATA runs its trains on the silver line tracks.

not only do several new sources cite concrete is being replaced ...
it's not the first time metro has had to replace defective concrete ceiling (by my memory. cite a place where metro exposes it's fuckups then we'll talk about what is fact and what is not)

So MWAA is using "WATMA plans" and co-oberates with WATMA to connect to WATMA line.
