I'm trying to do home improvement for a SFD but I keep having to do maintenance.

* new things to fix - like door begins catching when it closes ... about anything happens

* fix things hired maintenance people f'ed up (often takes longer than maintenance worker spend badly installing xxxx)

* yard issues cropping up (tree trimming, weeds, leaves, ...)

* keep equipment running (oops missed one, now have to repair a little just so it runs so i can get rid of it - it's not even mine but i'm selling it)

* keep cleaning

* keep me 1/2 clean, and by 1/2 i'm telling a white lie

* keep me 1/2 fed with rarely access to a kitchen

* fix things i broke (at least i do, unlike hired maintenance)

i can really appreciate people who like city living on days like this

POINT: after all that, it's hard to make good progress. SFD are allot of work if you do most of the work (rarely any hired maintenance)

This is a pretty good thing to do. Investing time into your own house and Renovating it is pretty cool. When I was doing repairs in my apartment I had to change all the floors so that they were even.
