What Is Community Wealth Building ?
The community based approach is collaborative, inclusive, and more democratic (thus the name Democracy Collaborative). The goal is to build local community well being and prosperity rather than maximizing “shareholder value” for absentee owners.

In the first half of the 19th century, Alexis de Tocqueville had observations about American life that seemed to outline and define social capital. He observed that Americans were prone to meeting at as many gatherings as possible to discuss all possible issues of state, economics, or the world that could be witnessed.
The high levels of transparency caused greater participation from the people and thus allowed for democracy to work better. The French writer highlighted also that the level of social participation (social capital) in American society was directly linked to the equality of conditions (Ferragina, 2010; 2012; 2013).

University of Maryland is at the vanguard of "Democracy Collaborative" with support from a big name foundation for creating "green jobs" using the "Cleveland Success Model".
Is this worth giving attention for Fairfax VA via one of our universities also, for example, Catholic University at Arlington County VA and/or GMU.EDU & VCU.EDU at Fairfax County linked "Economic Success Model" 6 Planks ?
This video panel discussion is long, more than one hour. Need a lot of patience to listen to this video, which I am doing now 10 minutes at a time, for me today.
