All Fairfax County public schools will be closed today (Condition 2). School offices and central offices are open on time with an unscheduled leave policy in effect for 12-month employees. (Message 1 of 2)
The closure is due to the high potential for the onset of inclement weather starting as early as midday Monday, even with an early closure elementary school bus routes would still be on the road during the forecast period of hazardous road conditions. (Message 2 of 2)

But...but...we were promised teacher salaries if schools were closed...and they closed schools again...so what public information will we get now in reprisal?

I am curious why so many are interested in teacher salary. Teachers are ONLY paid for days worked EXCEPt snow days. They have NO paid holidays, no vacation and..they are laid off during XMas etc. They contract for 193 days. They work 193 less snow days. If no snow they work 193. Why do you care if the 193 are divided so kids are off for holidays and holidays? The salary of a classroom teacher is for 193 days period. Again unless weather makes travel for CHILDREN dangerous. So shut up about salary..

Our kids spend more time at school than they do at home why shouldn't our teachers make more money. Oh I see you want teachers too make a low salary so the schools get the most un- qualified teachers to teach our kids.So they can keep voting for republicans.
