Dealing with web browser ransom-ware attacks: if you didn't know...
Let's say your browsing the web and you see a pop-up informing you that you've been penetrated, it asks you to buy services (or use some app): YOU IGNORE IT. IT'S JUST A POP UP AD NOTHING MORE.
Alls you need to do is close that web page (sometimes detatched): or more easily close the web browser.
Learn to bring up your system menu to close applications by list, and also learn to expose the web browsers buttons that allow closing of such a page WITHOUT clicking on anything on the malware web page (as i said, don't install software, and set your OS settings so apps must get outer permission (disable "one click" web installs)).
That's all. No need for virus scans or installing software. Your not subject to ransom: just close it you are safe.
It's %100 true that most all threats are merely hoping you won't know they were NOT able to breach Apple or Windows security (hoping you'll be tricked to think they did).
Unfortunately many NEWS MEDIA ads show pages such as above and call them ransomware which FALSELY EDUCATES new computer users to believe the web browser contains "ransomware". It doesn't.
ransom-ware is difficult to create and works only once: is usually done by someone on the inside of a large corporation or by foreign engineers (who contribute to android software) to target a single particularly rich company: it is never done to "home users", the cost would outweight itself
only corporate professionals need to worry about ransom-ware
