Best cell phone provider for the area

I was looking at T-mobile because they have the 30 dollar per month plan while verizons lowest is 40 per month.

Any other really good providers that I should consider or are those the top two?

if your not a computer geek own a laptop, get an iPhone it's all the computer you need (maps, math, you name it)

if your fully connected - you could go either way depending if the iPhone would really give you much you didn't already carry with you
