Karen keys is all for changing the name to someone of color, as long as it is the right color. Mendez was obviously the wrong color, according to her racist vote against him.

Why was Mendez a good option? Not saying he didn't lead an honorable life. He wasn't Robinson and many others connected with this area had qualifications just as good. Thurgood Marshall was a great American. He also lived in the County. A century from now people will still be reading about him. Set aside the issue of whether we should rename Stuart. If we built another high school in the county and did not already have a Marshall High School, naming a school after Thurgood Marshall would make sense.

Marshall lived in the Stuart Pyramid and never set foot in the school nor did he send his kids there, they went to elite private schools (which is his business)
If he were alive today he'd be followed around by #metoo as evidenced in his biography by a liberal. "American Revolutionary" written by Juan Williams and the school board knew that. In this current climate of Harvey Weinstein they didn't want the fall out. Naming it Justice is a joke.
