Arrests in Serial Burglaries

Sully Police District – Three suspects have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries targeting gold jewelry held primarily by South Asian families in Fairfax County.

U.S. Marshals working with the police burglary task force spotted a sport utility vehicle with two men and a woman inside who fit the description of suspects in the burglaries. They stopped the vehicle at Moore Road and Clifton Road about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

Subsequent investigation by members of the burglary task force led to nine felony charges against Francisco Gray, 39, of Nassau County, New York; Dagoberto Soto-Ramirez, 27, and his wife, Melinda Soto, 33, both of Queens, New York.

Each is charged with four counts of burglary; four counts of grand larceny; and one count of conspiracy to commit burglary. They are being held without bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Fairfax County police executed a search warrant and searched the sport utility vehicle the three suspects were in when they were stopped. Investigators found a lap top computer, a GPS unit, and a police scanner tuned to Fairfax County police radio channels.

The arrests mark the beginning of a new phase in the investigation that is expected to include multiple jurisdictions in at least two states.

my question is, why is the first suspect wearing the ffx county detention center issued green jump suit, and the other two suspects are in their street threads? My experience with going downtown, you shoot ur mug shot and are finger printed, then you change.unless he was already dressed the part, that is a little strange. Any of you trolling ffx county pigs have any input?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out -- who dreamed up this scheme, how did they obtain access to the inside information that allowed them to pull off this series of heists?

Probably one of the following: He wasn't wearing a shirt when arrested, his shirt said something profane on it, or his shirt was ripped/torn during his arrest.

In fact not only are they illegal but they have probably been arrested before.

I am sure they are not Dominican either. More than likely they are from El Salvador.

Recently both New York and New Jersey have had their fair share of illegals from El Salvador and Central America.

By no means am I an expert though.

They must have been relativly sophisticated because they had to case the properties fairly extensivly and they had to have know where SE Asians were living. I wonder if some Indian guy/gal was helping them for a cut of the profits. I guess SE Asians have more gold around the house than other people? They did a fuck load of robbies before they got caught so they were doing something right.
