All Ethnic groups have faced discrimination in America.
Irish, Germans,Jews, Italians, Vietnamese etc.
All those groups ignored that discrimination as a group and worked hard put their kids through school, learned English and showed by their actions that the discrimination was unwarranted.
People observed this and one rarely hears discrimination against them.
Laying down and dedicating oneself to a career of professional victimhood for 150 years does not generate the same degree of respect.
Professional groups like NAACP and individuals like Al Sharpton , Jesse Jackson get big paychecks for life by keeping that narrative going.
They're not interested in solving the problem because then what use are they?
If black people ever hope to attain the level of respect those previous groups have achieved they should throw off those self appointed "leaders ."
