big note: skilled workers in fairfax are "protected" by bulova gov to make ...

hardly $6 min wage - less when the foreigners steal from you: which they always will

bulova's gov workers (ie green cards voting democrat) - her "self professed min wage" is $50,000 salary for all "county workers" (note some illegals will say they don't get it - however posted county jobs get it)

the min. wage illegal of Bulova makes almost 5x what a min wage worker in fx co gets not including benefits !

He noted that California’s increase in minimum wage – which will rise to $11 per hour next year, and to $15 per hour by 2022

THAT'S RIGHT: calif. dems have stated they are giving $44,000 min wage for working mc'donalds your making hardly $6 min wage for skilled certified labor in Fairfax: in a few years: but already their mc'donald's workers are 2x your skilled labor wage !

this (see SEIU article) is obviously all about using politics to secure high wages only for democrats (even unskilled ones, but especially the picked winners of la familia politico), only in democrat areas

why isn't the post talking about this while shooting off their mouth about DACA ?

why didn't WTOP mention that california tricked "old white voters" into a gouge into their 401ks by law for political and immigration use ?

There won't be as many of them working because most of them will be replaced by kiosks. Oh, well.

you can make $20 an hour at McDonalds in CA but you will still live in the worst gang infested neighborhood in a house with a busted up floor due to earthquakes. You will need to make $800k a year just to get a 2bedroom in a decent school zone.

The answer is to not be in a business where you have to rely on a large supply of disposable labor that will put up with shitty working conditions for lousy pay.

If that means farmers have to switch crops from peaches to something else, and it means that customers can't buy cheap canned peaches, then so be it.

The answer is ECON 101

Labor is a good and responds to the supply and demand curve. If the government wants higher minimum wages all they have to do is seal the boarder. This will greatly reduce the supply of unskilled labor thus increasing what employers will pay for labor. I don't understand why the politicians refuse to apply this simple fact of economics?

Of course the wage increase will be passed on to consumers, but i have to believe it will be significantly less that what we are currently paying in direct and indirect taxes.

In addition, costs/prices are not equally elastic. Wages tend to be inelastic downward due to factors such as union contracts that obligate employers to pay a certain amount for labor; fixed costs for individual employees that must be met (rent, mortgage) forcing employees to seek more remunerative employment if the employer cuts wages, and so on. California agriculture is full of case studies, if you're interested in that sort of thing. Immigration, water policy, soil and water conservation, wildlife, transportation--all are in play, nothing is fixed, and everyone is trying to move the pieces for their individual or corporate advantage. Read up on the Salton Sea if you want a small taste of the forces at work.
