Most of those Chrysler 300's that the nogs are buying are retired rental cars that went to auction. The "Buy here Pay here" used car lots pick them up for almost nothing, sell them for a huge profit, and finance them with disturbing interest rates.

I have a 1957 DeSoto Adventurer rag top with the 345/345 Hemi. I went to test drive a Charger and a 300. The Hemi in those things is about the same size as the DeSoto.
The newer one has about 35 more foot-lbs than the old one, but something seems to be missing off the line on the new one. Maybe it's the trans, but I'd think the newer trans would be better than the 1957 auto.
The old one needs hundred octane premium. I use octane booster which means I'm lucky to get 3K mi out of a set of plugs. It makes the points pit, too (yes, I still have the dual points in mine, I never went electronic). The new one will run on the lower octane gas they sell these days, but the dealer said I should buy the better grade. He wanted to trade me even up--NOT!!!!!
I don't know what it is, but I'd rather the old one in a drag race.

I can agree with you. I've owned Dodge in the past when they built cars in the U.S. Nothing but problems. I'm sure their level of quality has gotten a bit better, but I'm still not convinced enough to purchase one. I'll only use them as rental cars and hope I don't break down on the highway.

I can agree with you. I've owned Dodge in the past when they built cars in the U.S. Nothing but problems. I'm sure their level of quality has gotten a bit better, but I'm still not convinced enough to purchase one. I'll only use them as rental cars and hope I don't break down on the highway.
