Our guys burned most of the classified information on board before the ship was lost. Those fucking North Koreans tortured our men and today they have our ship on public display as a tribute to American stupidity. This pisses me off!

I wonder how long NK plans to keep spending money to keep up the thing. It was launched in 1944, so it is now 73 years old. As broke as NK is, despite its propaganda value, NK has nukes and rockets on which it must spend money. Further, it has to pay for the lavish lifestyle of Kim Short Dong.
I suppose that The Donald could send cruise missiles to sink it. NK captured it in 1968. I would not be surprised if the engines have not been run since 1970. Thus, stealing it is likely not an option.

What you may not know:
The captain of the Pueblo was directed to keep the only useful defensive weapons - 50 cal machine guns - covered and nearly inoperable, with almost no crew training on how to use them and the ammunition stored below deck where it would be difficult to retrieve.
The captain radioed about the situation as it played out for several hours in international waters, and was promised air support by the US Air Force and the USS Enterprise. That support was then denied by Washington and later attributed to the planes not being ready.
The real reason that the Pueblo was captured was the Soviets wanted the spy equipment to work with information provided by US traitor John Walker. Both the USSR and North Korea deny that - yet the equipment was quickly shipped to Moscow.
In 1999, North Korea towed the Pueblo from Wonsan on the east coast, around the Korean Peninsula, to a shipyard at Nampo on the west coast. The US Navy created plans to retake the ship during this transit as the Pueblo passed through international waters, but they were not approved. The Pueblo is now surrounded by a thick concrete wall in Pyongyang to prevent a rescue.
In 2005, North Korea offered to give the Pueblo back to the US if Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would make an official visit to the country. The US declined.

Cept..The US Marines on board the ship were never ordered to man the 50. cal machine guns for any training at all before the event....The guns were covered and when SHTF the Marines found them rusted..
And one of the Marines in the USMC detail was awarded the Navy Cross for his heroism as a POW. The Capt Lloyd Bucher the Navy wanted to Court Marshall him as he gave the ship up..and many in the Navy felt the same..That said he did what he had to do out ..gunned and he wanted to save his crew and he did by surrendering ..And its true..no help came to them ..
Bucher is A good Guy in my book..he did what he had to do..in a slow ship, lightly armed by Navy standards..but the business of the rusted guns..is very strange..That does not add up to any conspiracy..just simple negligence..If the Marines had got those .50s into action ..the result would have been different ,they would have fought but it could have been worse..
None of the Marines advertised their business later, with Marine Looking Logos..their truck looking like a US Marine Vehicle..for commercial gain..trading on the Marines name and reputation..
