Looking for some local music venues while in town. Specifically Fairfax. Any suggestions?

Once jaxx closed (I know it was empire for a while) that killed the decades old hole in the wall rock/metal venue.
The fillmore in silver spring is nice though.
But I do miss jaxx, lots of great thrash bands and local high school bands played there for years.

The Birchmere, Gypsy Sally's, JV's Restaurant, and/or Pearl Street Warehouse should take Jaxx/Empire's place. Wishful thinking.

I've been to some good concerts at Jammin' Java, but not on dyke night.

Also, don't forget the Barns at Wolf trap too.

Your all talking bars where drinking is "mandatory", there are few to no women, and no real dancing.

Your talking about sports bars (the only kind in fairfax now): these are the absolute best way to become an $8/beer buying looser and least best way to find available women. No doubt fx co gov installed a camera to stalk bar goers for a potential drunk driving take down.

AYFWM? Fx Co Gov was caught giving tickets "for overdue inspection" to people waiting in an inspection line: specifically against the law to do that in VA.

If I'm paying $8/beer or kicked out for not buying: she'd better be good looking, not have any clothes on, and act like the floor and pole she's fucking turns her on.

Stay away from any bar or club if Wicked Jezebel is playing. They're an all female heavy metal cover band. 95% of their followers are lesbians. I like the band, but the audience isn't very receptive to hetero folks.

Wicked Jezebel has played at Jammin' Java in the past and i see they are on the calendar this Saturday night at JV's restaurant.

I do that a lot. Have a great home system. Cambridge Audio, Goldenear Tech speakers, SVS subs, etc. Good times.

Citypaper had a mistake in their weekly events, so I went to jammin java.
I’m a handsome white hetero male and these dykes were vicious.
Dyke collecting money was insistent on telling me”you know this is an alternative lifestyle band right?”
That’s like some dyke Jim Crow type shit.
Then, as I was leaving I made the fatal mistake of holding the entrance door open for a bully dyke and her partner...awkward!
The bull said something like “ what the hell is his problem?” As I exited.
Let carpet munchers do what they must in private.
Don’t do it in public and not expect my scrutiny.
I hate butch dykes

If you find the right guy who drank too many $8.00 beers you can fuck him up the ass in the parking lot.
