Red Light Camera Enforcement has ALREADY begun in Fairfax

Fairfax Police will begin enforcement of the latest red light camera locations Saturday. Photographic evidence thus will now be in play.

in every citizen meeting fx co was told NO by citizens

they ignored the citizens and ran COSTLY STUDIES (despite thousands of such studies are available for download free)

they then ordered costly imported equipment.

and like dc niggas they now likely plan to rig the cameras to send you tickets "oops our camera must have not been working properly"

yet they say keeping illegals here isn't for democrat votes it's for "listen to their neighbors"

Do not know what is up with the red light camera at Rt. 50 and Jermantown. That frigging camera is flashing its light all the time regardless of whether or not someone is going through the intersection.

Where are these cameras located in Fairfax County? I can't find any CURRENT info....only a list of locations from years ago before they were cut off.

I go through the intersection of Duke St & Walker (city of Alex) several times a day and the red light camera there flashes whenever the fuck it feels like it.....cars or no cars. I reported it and the response I got made no sense. Alex City police said they check the cameras EVERY month. They followed that by saying after they received my complaint they went back and checked the cameras for the last 3 months and found nothing wrong. Why would they do that if they'd been checking them every month? BS

Hah yeah I know. That one is jacked up. Seems to mostly go off jermantown towards giant gets a green. Must have lots of photos of stopped traffic.

Also that seems like a dumb intersection to put the cameras. There really isn't much running of those lights that I have ever seen.

There are no RLCs in Fairfax County, there are still a few camera posts up around the county but they stopped the program after they were money losers.

The city of Fairfax has at least seven of them.

There is one at Route 50/Lee Jackson and Rugby Road (westbound). Since this came up, have not checked to see if it is working. Not sure about others in the county.

Ignore the mailed notice - in VA you are only required to respond to a summons issued by law enforcement. That letter sent to you by a corporation with a pretty picture of your car and license plate is not an enforceable summons in this state.

Acknowledge the mail and of course you are screwed as now you admit to knowing about it and they can hound you. Just chuck it in the mail and worst case is they have the sheriff deliver you a citation. Wont make much profit doing that. This is all about revenue so they wont do that.

Its unjust in so many ways: no chain of evidence; conflict of interest by company paid on a commission basis calculated by the number of fines collected; no documentation of equipment calibration; no right to face your accuser (its a camera); no proof it was you driving thus denying you the presumption of innocence.

What a joke.

By the way they will send you the scary mails with threats for approximately 12 months max.

It's only Fairfax City, not the county.

lol they (private company) send the 'notices' of violation by regular mail. No way to prove you ever received or read the letter is there? They say 'we mailed you 6 times' you say 'dont know what you are talking about - do you have proof I received any letter(s)?"

nope.

SCAM-0-LICOUS

THE POST OFFICE HAS HIGH SPEED MACHINES THAT PHOTOGRAPH AND RETAIN THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF EACH LETTER THAT GOES THROUGH THEIR MACHINES. DON'T KNOW IF THEY WILL ALLOW THE PUBLIC TO INVESTIGATE THESE CASES, BUT THEY WILL DO TRACES THIS WAY WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. SO LAW ENFORCEMENT MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET THE DELIVERY DATES FOR THE FINES LETTERS.

I signed up for "Informed Delivery™" with USPS. I get an email daily that has photos of the mail I'm SUPPOSED to be getting later that day. Photographing my mail doesn't mean it was delivered to me.

you missed the whole point

fx co supervisors spent like a million to their political friends on studies that were already prolific and completed

they hired illegals to install and maintain

the equipment is imported, it's an export trade deficit minus

you'd get a ticket on a dark night with no cars in sight, which is both pointless and therefore: legal harassment

True. Which they acknowledge: the emails have links to report items that are listed but don't arrive. OTOH, they only show a limited number of items, so it's still sort of useless. I haven't figured out any real value to the service.
