Gerry couldn't go to the inauguration because he was too busy consoling Scotty Silverspoon and reaching out to Jihadi's. He also knew that if he went he'd

Gerry didnt seem too upset when Exxon left for Texas. Granted the building was just outside his district but plenty of six and seven figure Exxon high ups lived in Northern Va. Exxon also were very generous to local charities.

Anyone who skipped the inauguration should be punished. Even hyper-partisans Nancy Pelosi and Elijah Cummings went to the inauguration. The inauguration is not about the man assuming office, but the peaceful transfer of power. Connolly should be ashamed of himself...

There has to more to this than meets the eye. GSA doesn't walk away from the investment of time and money needed to get to this point just because they got bored with the process. Possibilities that could have affected matters, in no particular order: Someone is sending the FBI a message, via GSA; More funding will be needed in the next FY to keep the process going, low probability of anything other than a CR; Offerors getting bored, and therefore fractious, with little probability of contract award/ground breaking in the next 24 months; Force majeur is taking the Springfield property for another purpose. Whatever it is, something big had to happen to derail the one of, if not THE biggest USG project around.

When Connolly was on the Fairfax Board of Supervisors SAIC hired him for a $250,000 yr/ do nothing job.During this period SAIC property was selected to be the site of a Silver line Station which Connolly supported. SAIC made hundreds of millions on this deal.
