One thing many posters seem to agree on is that it is easier for everyone when there are improvements to local streets to keep drivers separate from bicyclists and pedestrians. I'm glad to see progress in making more bicycle and pedestrian facilities available in Fairfax County to allow our kids to ride their bicycles or walk safely to school. This in Fairfax County which has a school system that seems so very proud to have so very many school buses.

Maybe when we make more areas pedestrian- and bicycle-friendlier, we can start to reduce the number of school buses. Who, apart from Saudi sheikhs and school bus drivers, enjoys spending so much Fairfax County taxpayer money on school bus drivers, maintenance, fuel, and replacement school buses?
