Fairfax County, Virginia, police believe they have found the remains of a missing teen girl and said they have taken someone into custody.
Police said a body was found in a pond in the 21500 block of Ridgetop Circle in Sterling, Virginia.
Darwin Martinez Torres, 22, of Sterling was arrested and later charged with murder, police said.
Officers started searching for a 17-year-old girl about 4 a.m. Sunday in the area of Drainsville Road and Woodson Drive in Herndon. Some of the girl's friends reported to police they couldn't find her. They told police they were walking together in the area when the girl got into a dispute with a man who drove by in a car. The man got out of his car and assaulted the girl, police said.
A close family friend told News4 the girl's name is Nabra. The friend said Nabra was walking back to the ADAMS Center, a mosque in Sterling, with her friends when the altercation happened.
"At this point, there doesn't seem to be indication this was a bias incident. It looks like they got into a dispute over something," Fairfax County Officer Tawny Wright said in a news conference Sunday evening.
Police searched a wooded area near Drainsville Road and Woodson Drive area in Herndon, Virginia, for several hours.
At some point, an officer saw a car driving suspiciously in the area and pulled the driver over before taking him into custody.
Charges against the suspect are pending until further investigation, according to police.
Police said a baseball bat was recovered in the area.
The medical examiner's office will confirm the identity of the remains found.
Police said Dransville Road between the Route 7 shopping center and Sugarland Road was closed.

Why the fuck are they even talking about "bias incident"?

Was the girl in a protected class because she was a Muslim and wore a head scarf?

The killer looks like a recent arrival from Central America too.

How is any of this good?

So, the girls were walking with their friend when they got into some kind of dispute with a guy in a car. What happened next? How did she just disappear? There's a big gap in their story.

Hard lesson for anyone to learn.

This doesn't make sense. So the road rage incident took place off of Dranesville Rd near the adams center. These teenagers ran towards the center to escape. However, from what the news is reporting, they found the body about 3 miles away near Ridgetop Circle. How did she go from Dranesville Rd to near Costco? Sounds like he pulled her into the car and dumped the body there.

Comments on Facebook and Twitter indicate that he got pissed, got out of the car, maybe with a bat, and came after them. She was the one hit first with the bat, the others ran.
