The parents of the team should sue the league for their fees back. If the commissioner is going to be an a-hole about such a stupid issue then they should hit the league with legal fees and such. Making the commissioner come home every day with a splitting headache should be the goal of the parents of kids on the team.

...that reminds me of the one kid who was on our team when I was growing up. The kid ran poorly and was extremely clumsy. He could not kick with accuracy and did not have the stamina to last without time-outs to the sidelines.

He played EVERY GAME as goalie and forward, minimizing our chances at a winning season with every "play." His dad was asst. coach EACH YEAR, and I kept getting stuck on his team. He was chosen to play "All-Stars" every year and embarrased that team as well.

My family was told to join another league if we didn't like the way things were - we did...

The article said that the kid is "well liked" and that his teammates are sure that he was unaware of what daddy did.

I believe that because kids have a sense of fairness that adults do not.

If I was the kid, I'd urge my teammates to go ahead and play for the replacement coaches without me.

What a fucking jackass. Why the hell would he do this. His son must feel terrible because he probably won't be able to join another team because people think that he was also a jackass. His teammates said that he wasn't a dick, and that he was nice. I hope his dad is like "What the fuck have I done?!?!?!?!?" "I basically just ruined my kids life!

I think the dad is a cock-swallower, no doubt, but he had enough money to single-handedly fund an entire little league for his son... some kids get a pony but his kid got an ENTIRE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

So I have no doubt he can find some way to buy back his kid's love.

The kids on the teams that refused to play showed infinitely more maturity and class than the asshole father.

The father probably doesn't want his kid to be disappointed by being benched because his kid probably isn't that good to begin with. The problem is the father is not teaching his kid how to be a man. He's teaching him how to be an overly dependent basket case.

I wonder if the kid even wanted to play defense? Obviously it never occurred to his dad.

I think it stands to reason his dad is some kind of serious homophobe, and was unable to deal with the possibility that bending over some other dude, play after play, game after game, as the quarterback, would make his son into a faggot.

Hinkle coached the team himself last year. Check it out, it speaks volumes.

My kids play soccer u7 and half the coaches are dads who are expecting their 5,6, or 7 year old to score a college scholarship. I thought they'd make it to puberty before we'd be dealing with the idiots. How naive of me...

Someone needs to tell this guy to stick with business and stay out of sports. His favorite player was probably LeVar Arrington, so he thinks if he pushes his kid enough he'll be the next LeVar.

The guy should do his kid and himself a favor. Teach your kid how to be a successful businessman. Apparently both the father and the kid lack any natural talent in the sports arena.

I ref soccer, sometimes I get crazy parents that are like You suck ref or can you see the ball or somthing like that. And this is on the little U-9s where no standings are kept and no one cares except the parents if they win or lose. The kids have no skills or don't know the rules and the parents go crazy. With older kids the coaches get angry and yell and the kids are agressive but really do whatever they want and forget the coach.

Ok Scott hinkle was for one a loser and really annoying. NO ONE liked him on my team. Everyone thought he sucked and didnt deserve to play. All of us kids knew about the whole league thing. I have talked personally to both cuz Scott was on my team that year.

Don't these dad's that coach volunteer? How can you fire a volunteer? And on what grounds was he fired? I don't see a blatant violation of the rules.

As this story is often told, I just shrug and say, "This is what happens when
people take sports so seriously they let it rule and ruin their lives." Ive taken
my kids through baseball, soccer, Tae Kwon Do, Band, and Crew. I thought the parents
should have been there to support their kids and make it an enjoyable experience,
but there was always at least one (parent) who had to make an ass out of himself
by pushing his kid over everyone else.
