Bean Cuisine's "Ultima Pasta e Fagio" is great. I make it with homemade veggie stock and freeze it. I get it at The Italian Store in Arlington, that's the only place around here that sells it.

Paranoia self destroy ya. Butt out this. Serious conversation about bean soups stupid as$!
Sorry my deepest appologies. On that note bean soup is nasty but chilli with beans... Now that some good eatin'! Just make sure you have some saltine crackers. Crackers are a must! But as far as bean soup goes, yickkk! Lentil is probably the only one I can stand.
On the political spectrum of legumes, lentils are far left socialist marxist beans, while navy beans represent the patriotic, I-love-my-country lily white legume (with just a tiny black speck).
I hope that helps.

My favorite. I like to use a big hambone with plenty of meat and just the right amount of fat. Soaking the beans overnight seems to make them more tender than
the quick boil method. I cheat and use instant mashed potatoes though. Easy on
the onion.
YUM!
Here is a recipe for French Onion Soup that is FANTASTIC! The only drawback
is the prep time and you will use just about every pot and pan but well worth
the effort. The first time I did this recipe my wife and kids were crazy about it
but I'm not up for this every often.
