This is not your fathers DMV. I had to visit the DMV twice in recent years. They gave me a number and I was called up to the counter within 5 minutes. Total time was maybe 15 minutes. The clerk was friendly and had me on my way. The second time was just as quick. Much of what you need can be done online.
