Re: St. Stephen and St. Agnes: Good School?

It has long had a great reputation.
Long ago, when they were two separate schools, my parents wanted me to try to get in to St. Stephens for 7th grade. The test didn't just measure IQ, it covered material I hadn't even been exposed to, like pre-algebra. Also, don't laugh but they had a question "Diagram this sentence: The fox jumped over the fence." I drew a picture of a fox jumping over a fence. LOLLL. The thing is, I knew all about subjects/verbs/adverbs/adjectives/prepositions, etc. But the term "diagram" was no longer used, at least in FCPS for conjugating sentences. It was like a I was taking a test, in 1981, that had been designed in the 1960's. Bottom line: I did crappy and the guy said I would have to go to summer school to prepare for entry into 7th grade there. To my relief, my parents dropped the idea and I went to Walt Whitman and got almost straight A's.
