I would guess that your inability to differentiate between sing and sign might be the cause of your inability to obtain a passing grade in any English class.

Why do you have quote marks around Dr? She has a doctoral degree, and it is valid to address her as doctor.

PhDs in real fields don't ask anyone to call them Doctor. If she truly is a professor (as opposed to an adjunct) they can call her Professor Biden.
