Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
They had delicious pizza and lasagna. wonderful staff, wonderful family restaurant. Who else has that and serves wine in Vienna? Paisano's, Church St. Pizza, Vocellis, Ledo's are all dry, right?

Yes we love tacos but we love our family night with some vino for the adults and don't want a fancy restaurant. Luciano's is good but we really loved Joe's.

is that pasta al forno in your picture? it looks good.
Loved the original in Woodbridge. Back in the eighties they sponsored lots of soccer teams, and you could watch all kinds of Premier League games there.

Help me out here.
Luciano's in Oakton is the only place I can think of.
I remember growing up my sports teams would go here pretty often for team parties and such. Parents loved it because as others have said they could all get hammered and the kids could play those old school arcade games they used to have. Sorry to hear about it closing, must have been open 20 years at least right

If the entire town shut down, where would people buy a new mattress?
I'm pretty certain they closed due to family issues. Which is why they closed abruptly. The Arlington store was recently renovated and they have a restaurant in georgetown called il canale.

It might have been the spelling police. "Do to some unforeseen..."

Or, find an ATM/bank
or nail salon
or dry cleaners
or pharmacy
or grocery store
Any other places in the DMV one can eat and play games at? Not dave and busters, their food SUCKS.
I actually miss shakey's for this reason (the one that used to be in annandale). Playing old school arcade games and eating cheap pizza, going in with $20 and coming out hammered having had fun for 2-3 hours and getting to play some games have a slice or 2 and a pitcher of cheap suds (miller lite!) and still having $2 left to catch the bus home (too drunk to drive LOL) was the shit!
I know today's equivalent would be $40- any places I could go? Doesn't have to be pizza. Chuck e cheese serves beer yes but that doesn't count either as its geared for the younger crowd.
Give Galaxy Hut a try. Not as cheap as Joe's and a bit... trendier, but it has old school games, a great beer selection, and food. No pizza though (I think)

No. No it doesn't. Nothing says you got here 5 minutes ago like calling this area The DMV.
This is The DC Area or The DC Region. The DMV was is and always will be...The Department of Motor Vehicles. Also, Northern Virginia is not be referred to as The 703 or The 571. That's West Coast nomenclature...shit don't play here.

This. Plus if you are over 35 don't do say it. You just sound like you are pathetically trying to deny you are getting old. I hate hearing commercials were aging athletes have to say "The DMV" like they are still hip.
been going there for over 10 years at this location once every 4 months with i had to come to vienna for a dental appointment. going to miss there salad bar.. that chicken, pizza, and meatball combination was the best in town. not to mention the staff....thanks for many years of service. Hope you read this, and best luck to you. hope everything is ok with your family.
reviving this thread with the news that an Irish pub will be going into the spot where Joe's was! Praise the lord for not another mattress store or bank!!!
