DEMOCRATS SUCCESSFULLY BLOCK JUDGE GORSUCH!

On Thursday, the Senate voted 55-45 to successfully block Judge Neil Gorsuch, denying Republicans the 60 votes they needed to move forward.

History will remember this as one of the Democrat party's most Pyrrhic victories.

Damn, my ears are ringing.

Anyway, the Democrats change the rule to rush through 50+ federal district court judges.

Now, using the same rules, the Democrats are playing the high road.

This is the biggest joke of politics I've seen since Contragate.

And, I'm loving every minute of it.

You'd hate a Court filled with judges who actually interpreted the Constitution and Bill of Rights accurately. For all the bitching about activist judges from conservatives the truth is they love activist judges, as long as the judges are manipulating the law in a way that advances conservative agendas. It is like States Rights. Conservatives love the principal when it is states reigning in the activities of a liberal controlled Federal government. When it is a liberal state opposing the agenda of a conservative controlled Federal government, it is another matter.

Actually, we wouldn't. Conservatism...by it's very nature promotes less government. I'm actually in favor of as little governing by the Feds as possible, followed by the State, County, Town, HOA and so forth.

The Federal government should build infrastructure, provide defense....I'm struggling to come up with something else they should really be involved in. They suck at most things, no matter which side is in control.

The constitution enumerates very few agencies. They're basically the post office, mint, navy, army and patent office.

That's not true at all for actual conservatives. True conservatives do firmly believe it is not the job of the Federal Government to police and enforce policies that should be left to the local communities. The thing is that you should not confuse the fact that conservatives feel that States should be able to determine their own path means that they will not speak out about their feelings on ridiculous policies.
