want to make the game shorter.... go to a 20 minute quarter. but don't stop the clock.

If soccer guys can run around the field for 90 minutes american football should be able to do the same

The length of the games have been relatively the same for as long as I can remember. It never was an issue with any fan I have known. Too much unprofessional behavior. We have individuals using the league as a platform to push personal political veiws. We have highly paid successful player's using lawyer's and the courts to bypass personal responsibility for misbehaving when they don't like the results of the nfl system of discipline that they agreed to when the signed up fto play for big pay. We have players, many, not all, that make everything about money. We have a league that is more about fantasy football than about team pride and loyalty. No amount of changes to the tv format will fix what really ails professional sports. Success made them rich, money will be the beast that eats them eventually. I for one am not going to spend close to a weeks pay to see a game. It has become something that loyalty has little place in the grand scheme of things. So I have found other things more productive to do on Sundays. And Monday, Thursday, and so on.

Good Point. No pain, no gain.

If they're worried about how long it takes to air a game, how about cutting out the fucking TV timeouts on change of possesion after punts and kickoffs. Greedy fucks and their goddamn commercials.

When it comes to football, television is the goose that laid the golden turd. To recoup the large amounts of money TV networks paid for NFL broadcast rights, they packed the shows with commercials which increased the length of the game. To keep top players who were likely to draw viewers in the game they pushed for rule changes which changed the game and caused real football fans to lose interest.
