Found some tubing in the woods

I was walking in some park woods near my house and I found a bunch of 1.25" diameter electrical conduit. Probably 150' or so. It looks like those larger black cables that hang below the power lines. Is it legal to just take it? It's a county park/land. There are trees fallen over it etc. It looks like someone just dragged it off the highway and left it there.

You would need permission to take something off of park land, even it is, or seems to be abandoned. Put in a query to the parks department. Is it just the conduit, or the actual wire? Heavy gauge copper line of that length, in a heap and covered in overgrowth, is going to be a bear to pull out. It will be worth money. Old plastic conduit filled with mud and acorn husks and mouse skeletons is less than worthless.

Probably was left over by the site of the new Arthur Treacher's in Fairfax. Please don't take it. It is needed to run power to the deep fryers that are used to cook up that amazing, fresh fish.

OP---

If it's abandoned your doing the park a service by removing it.
you are definitely a good person for even thinking twice, many people just take what they want. Do the right thing and ask. It pays off in the end.
