Anyone else go to the subject show last night at the State Theater?

I got there a little late, and apparently missed Danny Rouhier's stand-up act. No big deal there, really, I have seen him before and he is really not all that funny.

Max the mentalist was reasonably entertaining.

Then, the Junkies, Danny and The Big Shooter took the stage as the main act. It was immediately apparent, and in retrospect I should not have been surprised, that the Junkies would have rather been anywhere else but there! Awful performance. Simply awful. Not entertaining in the least

This long-time listener is going to unmark the spot on my radio dial.

That's what I heard too, my buddies were disappointed but I can't figure out why they thought it was worth attending in the first place. Did people think that it was a party where they were going to hang out with the Junkies?

Typical hater. Show was great. Lurch and Cakes in particular were way into, totally hammered drunk, and hilarious. Dukes as well. The show was too long and I could have done without the magician, but to say you didn't get your money's worth from a 4+ hour event like that is just looking for something to complain about.

I was there. Acoustics were terrible. I struggled to hear what any of the acts were saying and I had table seating. I checked out when "for the win" started playing grease songs. Fun night tho

Lurch was sort of into, but I attributed that to how hammered he was. Wasn't getting anything from Cakes. I sensed that Dukes knew that the "divas" were just going to sit around, and decided to come up with a few things to keep the whole thing from being a total CF. Note that I mainly called out the Junkies in the original post--they were the ones that I went to see. I can go see Dukes with the Big O, and unfunny Danny a couple to a few times a year at shows that they put on.

I couldn't care less about the cost of the show. As Oscar should have learned in B-school, the opportunity cost sunk this thing.

Our show was soooooo money. You thought it was hurting? Whatever, rickey. We are so mooooooney.

Those nerds weren't really funny when they were young and relevant-ish. Now their old men who aren't really funny....

Good for them though getting paid to do nothing every morning for 20 years.
