Gas Stations Closed in Reston

A co-worker reported three gas stations in Reston closed with police tape around them. Anybody heard anything?

I have seen some in the past that were closed by the feds and marked off with police tape. The owners were not paying the gas tax to the feds but were still collecting it in sales. I think the IRS got what they were looking for.

Humm.. maybe the pumps are rigged to short people on gas and now they are evidence.

That Exxon at the Home Depot you refer to is run by a couple of shady characters to be sure. There have been reports of them rigging the pumps at that particular station in the past. I'm going to attempt to post a link to another site that references this very thing at that station from back in June.

There used to be this Middle Eastern guy in Chantilly at this gas station. He used to short me 2 cents all the time. You'd think after a couple time of doing it he would of remembered me.

Now there's a hot scam. After doing this to 50 customers he's got himself a cool dollar to spend. And.. that's if all 50 customers don't count their change LOL

I drove by there today. They have pulled one of the pumps and were looking at something below it. One white crown vic with no markings, no county symbols and two work trucks from a company call Petrolium services out of MD. Here's the pics.

Exxon Mobile hasn't layed out any plans publicly to roll out those services, but I don't know if individual station owners are allowed to take initiative. That would be pretty cool.

Maybe they are looking for all the buried money from the huge profits over the $3 plus a gallon gas this year and last year.

In Gainesville it is less than $2 a gallon and dropping. We got fucked again. I wonder what story big oil will make up next year to stick it to us.

ethanol is a possibility however hydrogen is not. ill leave it at that as the explanation is not short.

On a side note, I have noticed several other Exxons with the same pridicament. No other company besides Exxon. The one accross from BJ's and weed-mart in fairfax and the one across from AMF in Centreville.

At the reston exxon, all the pumps have been upgraded. Newer displays and stuff. They were also incredibly slow.. took 5 min to fill 12 gallons this morning.

Good news, after 13 years of walking around Reston, I can finally fill
up the 85 Crown Vic with gas. Wonder if it will start after 13 years.
