Daycare Costs in Herndon/Oak Hill?

We are having twins next year and are looking for advice for day care. Is in home vs. corporate like Kindercare always cheaper? How much does it cost per child? We are looking in the Herndon/Oak Hill area.

Don't look on this site for daycare suggestions. You will find that quality day care for two infants in this area will be equivalent to a mortgage payment - about 3 grand. The price is the same for places like kinder care or reputable in-home. You might consider an Au Pair. Even costlier but more peace of mind and no transport issue. Start looking fast as there are waiting lists for daycare.

I would say that two infants at a respectable business day-care would probably be closer to $4,000 a month. We used a good place in Reston and they were charging around $2,000 a month for a two month old, and that was a couple years ago.

I don't know what kind of job you have, but if it's sort of normal I'd look at staying home. You have to realize that putting a two month old into day care, the first year the child is going to be very sick a lot of the time.
