Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Capt. Trenton Houghton for the 3rd consecutive year refuses to put his eligible dependents on his healthcare insurance plan. What kind of father has such little regard for his sons? He's presently driving a 2016 Corvette and a Silverado but can't cough up the additional insurance premiums for his kids. I've seen posts on this site in the past with some of those that know him, defending him against previous allegations of domestic abuse of his spouse. What defense have you for him now? He has one son who is 25 years old, married with 2 young children that was hospitalized in 2015 for Viral Cardiomyopathy and owes over $50,000 in hospital bills and can't follow-up with a Cardiologist because he doesn't have healthcare insurance. He also has a 23 year old son that is enrolled in college and was t-boned by an underinsured driver that ran a red light. He presently needs surgery on his back but can't get the surgery due to a lack of healthcare insurance. Capt. Houghton is aware of all of this. His 23 year old son was living with him at the time of the accident. This should say it all in regards to Capt. Houghton's character and integrity.

Your post says more about your character and integrity than the content says about Capt. Houghton. A married 25 year old should be taking care of himself. If he cannot his spouse should be taking care of him. This sounds more like the complaint of a bitter ex-wife or one of her friends than an honest assessment of a member of the community.
Its just the facts his 25 year old son works 60 hours a week and his employer doesnt provide health insurance. His daught in law works as well in the hospital but is unable to get full time employment. So your saying if it was your son you wouldn't add him to your health insurance. You sound just like Capt Houghton. Are you. What's your name?

The problem is if your eligible for a parents health insurance and they dont put their dependents on their plan, they become ineligible for government assistance in Virginia.

He works 60 hours a week with no health insurance. I bet he is salary or commission only so he gets no overtime. Good that is exactly how capitalism is supposed to work.
I hope his employer makes his life as miserable as possible. Capitalism rules.
