Policy Activity at Ffax Co Pkwy/Burke Lake on 12 Oct

Was driving home yesterday around 2-230 and there was all sorts of police at the intersection- looks like they pitted a car into the median and over a sign... and one very large naked guy they were all trying to keep down on the ground. Where can I find more information about what may have been going on?

You can check the Fairfax County Police Department News blog at https://fcpdnews.wordpress.com/ later today and see if it made it into the daily summary.

You can also contact the Fairfax County Police Department Public Information Office at fcpd-pio@fairfaxcounty.gov and see if they'll give you any more information, although they usually play it pretty close to the (bulletproof) vest and are loath to give out very much information.

Two years ago, 3 cruisers, 5 unmarked cars and what looked like a swat van filled the street in front of my house and they were targeting the house across the street. I called the police non-emergency number to ask what was happening and they told me "it's just official police business"...a lot of help that was. Thanks for clarifying, dispatcher!

Was that at Moreno's house?

LOL at the expectation that the police would tell you what's going on during an active incident.

I would check here and the scanners before calling them.

Or look up the ownership of the address and see if any inferences can be drawn.

We had the scanner on--nothing was coming on. I certainly didn't expect details when I called the non-emergency number but something more like "Nothing that is a threat to the public" etc. rather than a virtual pat on the head with a comment that you would say to a five year old to make them feel better about all of the commotion.

That's all you are going to get now from police and fire. A pat on the head, some generic non-answer and told to move along.

There are just too many assholes who want to sue the cops, or kill the cops or film traffic stops or fire scenes in hopes they can catch someone doing something wrong and then sell the video. So now everyone is told nothing except to move along.
