New Principal of Falls Church High School

Dr. Ben Nowak has been announced as the new principal of Falls Church High School.

Nowak takes over from retired South Lakes High School Principal Bruce Butler, who's been serving as interim principal since the departure of Michael Yohe.

Nowak comes to Falls Church from McLean High School, where he's been an assistant principal since 2012. He is the sixth person to act as FCHS principal in the past ten years.

I think a former Falls Church principal summed it up best: An at risk student at Falls Church isn't someone who might not go to college. He is someone who might not show up at school tomorrow.

There is no loyalty in school administrators. Not to the students and not to the faculty. Just like Garza, they come in, mark territory, and move on to the next ticket punch.
