I pray everyday to get out. It really is hell. Awful people and standard of living. Not to mention the bowels of hell like summers. Congrats on your exodus.

You can look forward to the miserable winter. Nothing like those 6 weeks of cold gray skies and icy drizzle from mid-jan through feb to cheer a guy up.

Damn, you were talking this shit just a little while ago. It's so hot in Floriduh that you can't go outside?

For God's sake dude, let it go!

Find a nice air-conditioned indoor range and practice defending your castle against the Floriduh nogs.

Didn't you have the exact same thread going about 6 months or a year ago? What makes you like NOVA so much you have to obsesses about it after you are gone?

Just out of curiosity - why would you give a damn about whether or not people like living in NOVA? And why would you think anyone gives a damn about what you think?

If you left this area -- stay gone -- stay off our Forum. It only demonstrates that you miss this area and can't stay away.

Many find it difficult to put a traumatic, life-alternating event out of their mind. Think of someone who has been in a severe car wreck and survived. I'm sure that event runs through the survivor's mind hundreds, if not thousands, of times.
And yes, living in the D.C. area is very analogous to experiencing an automobile accident.

I think about leaving all the time, but then think if I have to get a new job I'll have to come back.

I can understand why someone who needs a well paying job and has a family to support will shrug their shoulders, mutter under their breath "What choice do I have?" and put up with the madness this area brings. What I fail to understand is why someone who is retired and who no longer is responsible for supporting his children would remain in the area. To me, that is the true definition of insanity.

Nice analogy, but I have one that is better. Living in this area is no different than being sexually abused as a child. You never get that out of your mind.
