Flip Flppen: The Truth Must Be Told
Posted by: Vote NO on the Fairfax meals tax ()
Date: July 31, 2016 12:29PM

Here is documentation of the fact that Flip Flippen charged a school district $10,000 for a one hour commencement speech:

http://www.dailyrepublic.com/news/fairfield/consultant-for-fairfield-suisun-district-got-10000-for-hour-long-missouri-talk/

The pro-meals tax contingent is fond of showing that the meals tax charged for a meal at one of the few restaurants supporting the tax (but the restaurant is not even in Fairfax County) is $2.11.

4,740 meals would have to be consumed in order to cover this speech, were it to be given in Fairfax County. That would be a lot of meals for a one hour speech by a guy whose solution to school problems seems to be little more than putting posters on the walls and shaking hands.

Nardos King, formerly of MVHS, hired Flippen. I think we can all see how well that worked out...

FCPS has this guy, they will probably get a transgender consultant at some point.

What else can they think of to waste money on? How about a Pokemon consultant?

$10,000 an hour, and who is Flippen? Nobody, that's who.

every penny raised by the meals tax will be wasted.

Every penny.

Flip Flippen is a good example, but there are many more.

There are not enough stupid people in the County to defeat the meals tax. It's plain to all rational people that we in fact need the tax. It's only the slack-jawed droolers whose ignorance is such that they fail to see what's going on here.

Who favors the meals tax?

1) Most, if not all, FCPS administrators
2) Many FCPS teachers
3) 29 Diner (but it is in Fairfax City)
4) Clare and Don's (but it is in Falls Church)
5) Some helicopter parents
6) Idiots who write "meal's tax"
7) Clownboy (a unique individual)

Who opposes the meals tax?

1) Restaurant owners
2) Restaurant workers
3) Restaurant patrons
4) The elderly (the tax targets them)
5) The disabled (the tax targets them)
6) Supermarket owners
7) Supermarket workers
8) Supermarket patrons
9) People who think Karen Garza is overpaid
10) People who think FCPS is bloated
11) People who question FCPS procurement practices
12) People who think FCPS spends too much money on travel
13) People who think FCPS spends too much money on dining out
14) People who do not think the school board should have voted itself a raise
15) People who think FCPS is nonresponsive
16) People who think the school board is nonresponsive
17) People who think FCPS rushed into the transgender initiative without planning
18) People who want to see the plans for "tax relief" before voting for the meals tax (note: not the "meal's tax")
19) People who do not believe any additional funds would be used to improve the schools, but to build ever-growing empires within FCPS
20) People who think Flip Flippen is a snake oil salesman

There were the last two times that they tried.

Go fuck yourself, you pathetic dipshit. Everywhere else ALREADY HAS a meals tax. Fairfax City, Falls Church City, Manassas and Manassas Park, Vienna, Herndon, Arlington, Alexandria. Why haven't these places seen all their restaurants closed up and all there elderly and disabled dying off? ANMSWER: Because you are as big a fucktarded dumbshit asshole as there is on this site, and you haven't got one single clue as to what the fuck you are talking about. You are just plain a total mindless stupid fuck. Stupid beyond all measure.

You really did waste a lot of time on student council, didn't you?

Just because jurisdiction "A" does something does not mean it is a good idea for jurisdiction "B" to do the same. Ever hear of comparing apples and oranges, and is the notion of change over time tough for you to comprehend?

I'm sorry I cannot post the entire video here, but maybe this will help you relax:

Meanhwile, nearby jurisdictions in Virgini9a are quiote obviously comparable to each other, as only pathetically stupid assfucks could fail to understand. None of the horrible outcomes that you insist will befall Faifax County as the result of a meals tax has EVER come top pass in ANY other jurisciction that has adopted one. Alien abduction is more likely than the childich shit you are trying to sell.

If nothing else, the time that has passed since the enactment of the meals taxes elsewhere makes comparisons very difficult. Given your obvious erudtion, could you, perhaps, share some original analysis with us? If this has been done by some other noted scholar, please post a copy of their findings or a link.

Finally, let's assume the tax passes. Could you offer some prognostications (since you must obviously have the gift of prolepsis) about the utopian conditions that will develop, and how long it will take them to become fully realized?

A special election in 1992, where turnout was barely 25%? Turnout will be 55-60% in November. Be worried.

Unless you're hit by one first, you'll live to ride the Arlington streetcar. Perhaps as it cuts its way through Falls Church on the way to Tysons and back.

No worries. There are plans to bus senior citizens, disabled inviduals, restaurant workers and supermarket workers to polling stations to vote against the tax.

At least one restaurant chain has a very dedicated customer base, they are planning something similar. "Go vote and come eat" or something like that.

What will the pro-meals tax contingent offer? A lap dance from Karen Garza?

Fuck off, asshole. Digital and other libraries have preserved the relevant histories. If there were ANY recorded instances of the sorts of calamitous outcomes that you forecast here, you would have posted them. You have not done so because FUCKING NONE EXIST. These things have never happened. They are only bits of childish made-up nonsense passed around among groups of reactionary assholes, and here serving only to illustrate further what a worthless lying sack of shit you are.

Blow me, asshole. This is all public information and common knowledge to anyone who is not an absolute total dumbfuck.

Go suck a donkey dick, you pathetic ass-troll. The outcome will be a much needed annual inflow of $100 million or so into County coffers, significant portions of which would be contributed by NON-residents, and all of it acting to relieve ever-mounting pressure on property tax rates. They will eventually anyway, but without a meals tax, property tax rates are quite likely to soar into the range of $1.25 to $1.30 per hundred of assessed value within quite a short period of time.

Assholes of course don't understand and apparently can't remember any of this.

LOL! There are no such plans anywhere but in your assfuck imagination. A turnout of 55-60% will mean a very different outcome from a turnout of 25%, and you are quaking in your flimsy-ass slippers because of it.

We need the tax. It's that simple. You oppose it because YOU are that simple.

The OP made a factual statement. Like it or hate it, it was totally above board. That the replies are so backward, disgusting and simple as hell just prove that kids enrolled in FCPS are doomed. What a perfect display of the type of parents & administrators who surround the kids. Who talks like that about school issues? I'll never have my kids step foot inside a FC school.

Voting to increase taxes on themselves doesn't really have a good track record.

Why did they kill it last time? Too much support huh? LOL!

Be very worried.

Uhhh, yeah. That's not going to happen. Especially after DC's has, as expected, turned into a highly visible failure and a huge waste of money. They're well into tying things to new buses for the next decade plus. The costs and time frame will just continue to increase making it even less and less feasible than the original fantasy.

Besides, street cars being kind of passé. They've moved on to gondolas over the river now. Portland can suck it.

^^^ +1,000

Until FCPS shows that it can manage money - i.e. spend it with some accountability for results, it should be kept on a tight leash. Unfortunately, with "One Fairfax" we are headed to a communistic nirvana where "everyone is special". Look to the future where taxes continue to rise and businesses flee and high performing kids flee to private schools and public schools that actually teach them end FCPS is left with sociologists and IEP teams and kids who can't perform (i.e. work and pay taxes). Public education needs to be careful with public resources and provide value for money spent - i.e. educate the kids that businesses want for a price (taxes) that they (and their employees) are willing to pay. It's that simple.

Asshole. The meals tax brings revenue in from OUTSIDE the County. This REDUCES tax burdens and pressures on actual County residents. Are you just too fucking dumb to realize how this works?

> Why did they kill it last time? Too much support huh? LOL!

Don't know. It was 24 years ago. You were just starting first grade. For the first time.

> Be very worried.

55% > 25%, asshole.

> Uhhh, yeah. That's not going to happen.

Of course it will. There are too many people needing to move along too few major arteries. Cars will be banned on designated roadways during rush hour, and everyone will wonder why we didn't think of it earlier.

> The costs and time frame will just continue to increase making

Streetcars and light-rail have high initial costs. They have very long lifetimes and much lower maintenance costs than other transit options. They are also, clean, quiet, and people actually like to ride them.

Read the budget, moron. There is nothing at all wrong with the financial management of FCPS. There is a TON of shit wrong with the fucked up, stupid-ass workings of an awful lot of asshole brains around here. Get yourselves straight, you pathetic twits.

72% paid by residents by the BOS own estimate. And thats overly simplistic and optimistic.

Last time that they bailed on holding the referendum. Even Bulova conceded that it faced inherent opposition and very likely would fail without time to build a "coalition." Which they are no closer to doing; rather, in fact opposition has become stronger and more organized.

> > Be very worried.
>

Yes, that's what it likely will lose by.

If you're counting on turnout to change that, then you might want to go look up the results of Loudoun's and Fauquier's in 2008 which were the last similar county attempts in the area and done during a general election year to see how well that worked. It's a different time and place vs could be slid through in the 90s.

Not in what remains of your pitiful lifetime and the replacement won't be a stupid too expensive streetcar.

Unless a parent made special arrangements, they'd never see Flip Flippen. The really scary thing is that all of this foulmouthed ranting probably comes from a teacher or administrator expecting a raise or promotion when the landslide of money from the meals tax rolls.

I live close the border of Fairfax County and Falls Church. If that damned tax passes, I'll eat out in Falls Church. Screw Fairfax.
