Possible drive-by shootings strike two moving vehicles in McLean
By Victoria St. Martin June 13
Fairfax County police are investigating two possible drive-by shootings in which moving vehicles were struck by what appeared to be bullets while traveling down a McLean street this weekend.
The vehicles were heading north on Old Dominion Drive late Saturday and early Sunday, said Officer Megan Hawkins, a department spokeswoman. No one was injured, she said, and both victims described seeing a white sedan during the incidents.
The first vehicle was on Old Dominion Drive near the intersection of Falls Run Road around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Hawkins said. At some point, the white sedan — which police said could be an Audi — passed the other vehicle and a loud bang was heard. Hawkins said a second vehicle passed the sedan around 12:10 a.m. Sunday on Old Dominion Drive near Bellview Road, and the driver told authorities that there was a loud bang.
When both victims arrived home, police said, they noticed holes on their vehicles that appeared to be from bullets.
