Name Change Needed: FAIRFAX COUNTY

While we are at it – I think the Board of Supervisors should consider changing the name of Fairfax County to something more inclusive as well.
It has always bothered me that we honor the Fairfax family when they were the cruel invaders that not only stole the land from the natives but also claimed large portions of Virginia as their own personal piggy bank with their land grabs.
I don’t think it is a coincidence that the word “Fairfax” comes from from - Faeger-feahs – which means “blond hair." Can anyone say Nazi or Aryan nation? Might as well be called Hitler County.
Does a diverse county such as Fairfax really want to be associated with white power? It should be named Doeg County after the peoples who lived here first.

Agreed. I don't know why every former slave-holding plantation in Virginia is treated with such honor and respect. Mt. Vernon, Gunston Hall, Sabine Hall, Stratford Hall, etc. They should all be razed and turned into parking lots or Native American reservations. Why is so much money being spent to honor these slavers?
