Reston Metro Station Guy Down CPR Happened -Find Out if Guy Died

I was heading home yesterday at the Reston Metro station and there was a guy down on the walk way out of the station. FCFD had his shirt off and they were pumping his chest and had the shocker thing ready to go.

The guy looked pale and dead. He was in a business suit.

How can I find out if the guy lived?

You cant.


But you can look at statistics.
According to cpr.heart.org almost 90% of people who suffer a heart attack outside of a hospital setting will die.
By administering high quality cpr within the first minutes of a M.I. you can increase the patients survival rate 2 to 3 times.

Some local numbers I've seen suggest that almost 75% of the time the patient is able to return to spontaneous circulation.

For every minute that passes after the onset of a M.I. your chance of survival decreases by 10%

Bottom line......

Everyone should learn CPR.
