Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I've been trying to find some spooky abandoned buildings in Fairfax using the internet, but I can't find any good ones. I'm mainly looking for abandoned schools and abandoned asylums, but any abandoned building will do.

This place. I ride my bike by there all the time. You'll need to try and enter through the back since the front faces Ox Rd. There is something really creepy about the back entrance to that house. Every time I go back there I get chills down my spine. No way would I ever go in by myself.

Interesting. Too many over-intelligent rich white folks deciding not to procreate? This will kill this country. Keep breeding white folks.

There's an abandoned neighborhood by Oakton road in the neighborhood across the street from the Flint Hill HS fields; really expansive and even has a gas station + a mechanics garage.

There is an abandoned insane asylum in Fairfax, near A high school on Sutton road( not exactly sure where that is though.) Rumor has it that a ghost of a patient still roams the place. I heard that the patient used to be a teacher and one of her students went to the asylum to visit her, but disappeared. I'm personally to scared to go there, even though I want to find more info about it.

There is quite a large police presence in that area, so hang around there at your own risk. I know several people who have gotten busted for trespassing, I mean urban exploration, there. Also, it seems that the end of Phoenix Dr. is a favorite spot for drug deals and hourly-rated encounters.
Interestingly, I've seen quite a few tactical units coming and going from that road. I'm wondering if they are using the property for training exercises.

That is a sad state of affairs. Why did they reelect the school board after that lousy decision. Sucks

THIS PLACE..... Creepy as hell. 4100 Chain Bridge Rd. Fairfax
Water leaks, Asbestos, black mold, broken A/C and a belfry full of batshit crazy people at the top. The ghost of righteousness long past, haunts the hallways.

In the mid-70s, on Centreville Road, right near the Lee's Corner intersection, stood a house. It was empty for about 25 years.
Before they tore it down to develop the land, the owner went to inspect it. She was the daughter of the deeded owner, but he had died years before.
Anyway, when she walked around, remembering a bit of when she was a small child, she saw in a corner a small necklace. Mind you, the entire house was empty.
She picked up the necklace, and it all came back.
She lost that necklace the same night her friend, Jodie, disappeared.

I lived off Oakton Road in the 80's and 90's, Phoenix Dr used to location where Craig Van lines facilities and office where at. I forget what all the other odd ball buildings were for. The property used to back up to a Nursery or Garden center that was near the intersection of Oakton and Miller Heights. There was a bunch of creepy little house's between Oakton Rd and Phoenix Dr back in the woods. Some hoarder lived at the end of V lan, they found him dead out in his yard.

That building.. 4100 Chain Bridge Rd. Fairfax I looked it up and it says it's just a police station? Google Earth was updated 2017 and it's a full parking lot of cars and such. Don't think it's abandoned

The future "scout on the circle" has been sitting abandoned for 2 years now. They say they may start tearing it down by the end of the year, so get in while you can:

I've been to the insane asylum off popes head somewhere circa 1996 I think. Creepy as fuk and it was during the early afternoon 2pm!!!
You went inside and there were 2 stairways going up to the same floor! People would party in there and words were written on the walls with a cig lighter-that shit looks creepy....btw
I went bc this hot as fuk girl was there that I used to drool over in high school! Nikki George.
Under the building was cages with chains. Maybe six caged areas total.
I'm walking up the steps and the dude that invited me, looks over at me w this fukd up look and says, " u wanna hear something weird? I had a dream last night about these staircases"
Vines were all overgrown the outside of the building.
I tried to google earth it, but nothing comes up. It might be where a company called "green team" used to sell mulch and landscaping plants-somewhere in that vicinity. I drive there recently, and there is a high end stone nursery building in the spot where green team used to be located.
I know those cages were housing the insane. How the rich treated mentally ill and violent, make this one of the creeeeeeepiest places ever!
Fuk bunny man, the whole vibe of this place-dead silence, overgrowth of plants, cages in basement, 2 staircases, writing w cig lighter....fuk I'm scared now !

Yes. The Fairfax county building used to house the commission on responsible use of taxpayers money. It also houses the illegal immigrant enforcement agencies designed to protect citizens.
