Frank Ebersole is a con artist who has been doing carpentry and woodworking, construction, and other jobs in the Fairfax County area.

Frank just got out of jail (he was there due to missed child support payments) and I want to put out a warning: don't hire this guy.

Frank Ebersole took my elderly parents for almost 3k, and he has ripped off other people for much more:

Here's Frank Ebersole's game: he preys on people, saying he's a Christian and affiliated with Reston Bible Church. When I called the church to let them know he's doing this, they excused his behavior, saying that he's in counseling with them. I begged the church elder not to enable him to take advantage of people, then hide behind their church. Apparently, that made no difference; Frank called today trying to scam my parents again.

I'm helping my parents to file complaints against Frank Ebersole with the police, the county attorney's office and the state Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation so that they have it on file if he ever tries to get another license.

FYI, Frank has also used the license numbers of other contractors in the area to get work. Contractors out there, check your license.

You'd think that Reston Bible Church wouldn't work so hard to protect someone who lies, cheats, and steals.

Since OP implicated Reston Bible Church I just had to check out their web site. The church elders are quite a group. One of them has fathered nine (9) children. It brings to mind an old Groucho Marx story. A woman with a large family was explaining that she had so many kids because she loved her husband so much. Groucho supposedly replied, "I love my cigar, too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while."

Maybe he's related to Frank ... he's got a brood too.

Not in Fairfax County, the best you can hope for IF the case has enough merit to make it to a criminal court of law is to get their money back. If you don't like it, vote for a new commonwealth attorney or new state legislators. They all bend over backwards to kiss the defense attorney's collective asses for political endorsements or campaign contributions. You can also lump in "the activist judges"with that opinion.

You must not have a very good knack for picking churches.

I've learned additional information about Frank. Apparently he has failed to pay his sub contractors as well.

I've talked with the Commonwealth's attorney's office, and they are very willing to prosecute Frank. They've had a lot of fraud with contractors lately, especially against the elderly.

So, umm...they're gonna prosecute him for contracting above his license class? Since that was his offense in the links you provided.

Dumbass was too stupid to make sure each project was no bigger than $70,000 in value.

I was victimized too, in a big way. He failed to follow through on many promises. He claims to be a Christian to gain your trust and bails out when he is ahead on the money. Much of his work is poor and he uses unskilled labor. I've had to hire new contractors to fix much of his work.

He also knows how to use our hopeless legal system to his advantage - it has already cost me a lot to get nowhere.

I'm sorry to hear that he has more victims, but not suprised. Again, still don't know why Reston Bible Church continues to back Frank Ebersole, considering how many people he has stolen from.

I honestly believe it will only be a matter of time before Frank screws the wrong person and ends up taking a dirt nap.

I hired Frank to do remodeling to my house in 2005. The job is still basically incomplete. I was one of two people who reported Frank and was instrumental in having his license revolked.

There are so many "con" contractors out there! Do your research, check references. Are you sure he isn't related to Prabh Singh/Ahluwalia???

I think everyone gets the point by now: Never use Frank Ebersole as a contractor, furthermore, never let him near your property.

All a potential client has to do is google his name and they will learn that he was either an American philosopher who developed a unique form of ordinary language philosophy, and died in 2009, or the man described here.

It's extremely unusual to find a purported contractor does not google to Angie's List. Someone somewhere should have some remarks or complaints about him on a public forum about contractors.

Does he use illegal workers or does the work himself? Also, why is Virginia so lenient on all these scam artists? I feel we have too many democrats and libs working for us.
