Can anyone give me a dump on the GigaBlast roll out. It's not available in my neighborhood yet. I assume it will be available anywhere cox cable goes.

COX didn't make any of the "upgrades".
it's all purchased from companies - sometimes imported (probably wholey these days)
"yes, faster chips do mean less wait"
give Texas credit for being at the forefront of the world for speed since the 80's (motoroal spark dec hp befrore that)
and to american companies like broadcom (DAC ADC)
and (western digital / seagate in usa) for absolutely incredible storage progress as well
the fact is: something like today's video cards may have WORSE technology and cheaper standards inside and still side-step major OS issues (causing crashes - cheap pieices of crap), have bloated code and malware inside, etc
dont give credit to todays peddlers of technology for being better or faster. they aren't. they are having their ASSES WIPED is more the big picture.

only getting built in new developments right now. Herdon and Merrifield have a few places where it's at.
