A road rage incident on West Glebe Road in Arlington yesterday culminated in one driver attacking another with a baseball bat.
Arlington police are on the lookout for a man in a malicious wounding incident in the 1200 block of West Glebe Road, which happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police spokesperson Ashley Savage said that the suspect cut off another driver, prompting the driver to honk. This apparently enraged the driver, who confronted the victim when they both stopped their cars.
The suspect then pulled out a wooden bat and swung it multiple times, damaging the vehicle and injuring the victim, Savage said.
He then fled the scene. Police described him as black, in his 50s, and about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 125 lbs. He was wearing a cream-colored short-sleeved button-up shirt and a pair of green pants, according to the police report.
Savage said medics responded, but the victim did not need to be taken to the hospital.
