Re: There are a lot of schools in northern Virginia where the main entrances are on small side roads hidden away from major main roads. Why is that?

Are you saying finding the main entrance to the building is hard or finding the school itself if hard? Unless it's changed since the 80's the main entrance is easy, but finding the school maybe not. I mostly hung out with Falls Church High kids my junior and senior years and got friends lost back there more than once playing cat and mouse.
I just looked on Google maps and noticed the "park" across the street, west of the tennis courts is totally overgrown. My first 2 years there everyone would go over there during lunch and do bong hits. After that they locked down the campus and you weren't allowed to leave during lunch. Still had the official smoking areas on school grounds though. I think the year I graduated, 1982 was the last year for smoking areas.
