Police Officer Ashley Guindon was shot and killed Sunday evening responding to a domestic related shooting in the 1300 block of Lashmere Ct., a Prince William County Police Department spokesperson said.

Guindon was sworn into the police department just one day prior to her death, according to PWCPD's Twitter page.


Two other officers were shot. The severity of their injuries wasn't immediately available, police said.

Neighbors say they heard gunfire, screams, and police running with guns drawn.

According to Sgt. Johathan Perok the suspected shooter wasn't hurt.

Perok said police were dispatched to the Washington D.C. suburb for a "verbal argument" around 5:30 p.m.

One person was taken into custody following the shooting, according to police.

600K is the Hood compared to my 24K SQ FT home on 25 acres in Fairfax Station

His life, and the life of those killed would have been much better of had he not had easy access to weapons despite his mental injuries and state.

This is a horrible domestic incident and I pray for all of the families involved in this tragedy.

I drove into the neighborhood just as they were closing the streets. Never saw so many police and fire vehicles in one place. All driving super fast with sirens on max. Including several Fairfax County police cars. Looked like 20+ cops drove their own vehicles to the scene too, no lights or markings on them.
