Posted by: Centreville HOA President ()
Date: February 16, 2016 08:43AM

The snow event ended in the Centreville area at 2am 02/16/16 and per the rules and regulations of the Centreville HOA - All sidewalks and fire hydrants must be cleared of snow and ice by 10am 02/16/16

I will be touring the neighborhood under the control of the Centreville HOA, and documenting violations with photos, and assessing fines.

Fines are $250.00 per violation plus a $75.00 process fee.

Notification will be sent out 02/17/16 via U.S. Mail Registered Certified mail, and all fines and fees are due 02/22/16 to avoid late fees.

Some people can't recognize satire, though I imagine there are HOA officers (dictator wannabes) that would love to be able to implement something like that

I have toured the neighborhood under the control of the Centreville HOA, and I have documented with photos the 43 violations.

Letters of violation will be mailed tomorrow morning via U.S. Registered Certified Mail, and all fine and fees are due by 02/22/16 to avoid the $100.00 late fee plus the $75.00 process fee.

On what basis are you making the determination the snow event ended at 2am? According the NOAA the winter weather advisory did not END until 10AM on 02/16/16.

The historical watches, warnings and advisories all available on their website.

You are just flat out wrong. It is a violation of the HOA covenants to issue fines and penalties without proper review and oversight. Since you don't even know when the weather event ended I would say there was not proper review and oversight.

I will expect your resignation at our next meeting.

Thanks HOA prez for sending out those letter's of apology. But it is too little too late. Your resignation will still be required.

I am happy to report that due to the sending out of violation letters based on inaccurate information (i.e. ending of said "weather event") - the Centreville HOA President was forced to resign at this weeks meeting. He cried a little bit but when he saw the rest of the board had an attorney present at the meeting he went ahead and signed the letter of resignation. Now don't go nuts with violations - the VP is the acting P until elections are held.
