Let's be real here...
Here's what happened...Someone needed to get home, saw the surge pricing when they confirmed the trip AND WENT AHEAD AND DID IT ANYWAY AND THOUGHT STUPIDLY THAT THEY COULD ARGUE THEIR WAY OUT OF IT.
Morton's serves a fine meal. They do. I've eaten there many, many times. But, I only eat there when my contractors are picking up the tab.
I'm aware of their pricing and find it outrageous. So, if it's my money...I "click no" and "refuse the surge pricing" and go and buy steaks and side dishes at the grocery store and cook it myself.
Know the market, know the prices people. Services like Uber give you many chances to opt out before committing to a purchase. When you commit to a purchase...commit to a purchase. Ladies and gentlemen settle their debts and settle them timely. So, either pay the bill OR don't pay the bill and then bitch. You don't get to do both.
