Practical winter storm tips

* Set your home thermostat a few degrees higher than you normally would. Buys you some more time of warmth if you power goes out. That is if you not have a fireplace or closeby alternate heating source.
* Likewise set your fridge and freezer to the maximum cold settings for the next 24-36 hours. Caution, for fridge portion, this cools this section down from 32 to about 25 degrees, so depending what you have in there, this may or may not be good.
* Extra portable electronics juice (for cell/smart phones and the like, not for laptops), 10400 mAh of juice, so compact that it easily fits in your pocket, can completely charge a phone a few times. I bought one over the summer, and this really works as used it a couple of times when on way to work when had forgot to charge my phone overnight.
