Best German Auto Repair Shop

Looking for a reliable non-rip-off Merc Mechanic. Probably located next to the Unicorn pasture in FFX. I do most jobs myself but some stuff is too much of a pain in the ass (e.g. 4matic Left motor mount). The shops I call just want to rip you off. Quoted me $700 for a R engine mount that cost me $80 in parts and only took me 1.5hr to replace (including trip to Stealer to get 1 bolt for $8).

No wonder people think German cars are expensive to repair - mechanics rape the owners 2x compared to a honda or toyota.

Any good shops?

So are you trying to find someone to fix one of your "Do it Yourself" fuck-ups?

We charge the regular rate if we fix it. 3 times the rate to fix your fuck-up.

Maybe you shouldn't have purchased an overpriced, unreliable POS European car.

Fairfax Service Center or Eurasian Service Center are some to consider.

Call NGP in Lorton. They do a great job on European cars.

Nope - I pride myself on knowing when I can finish a job correctly and when I cannot. So far Ive never ever had to be bailed out by a mechanic. That said some stuff you cannot do yourself. For example, if you need to download software to the car or in many cases when use of a lift is essential as with the left motor mount on a 4matic Mercedes of my year. Removing the exhaust pipe from the manifold and working in the tight space to remove the mount is difficult with a lift. on your back it would just suck.

And, you are an ass.

To the contrary - my e320 has over 200k on it and has never given me trouble. The only repairs its required other than regular maintenance are EGR valve cleaning; motor mounts worn at 200k; headlights polished; CV boots, O2 sensors and a belt tensioner seized. Its almost 17 years old and runs like a top. I once drove an Accord from 0-250k but it was not quite as trouble free as the Benz.

And for every trouble free e320 owner hundreds haven't been as fortunate. Where as the accord most people have a trouble free experience and a few unfortunate do not.

Why the fuck would anyone want to drive the same car for 17 years?

I have the cake to by a MB, but why?

I lease my MBs, and write the whole thing off. I get a fresh one every 2 years.

If you want an old car buy something like what I have in my garage - A 1967 427 Corvette Stingray Drop Top with 25k miles.
