Where can I get a good steak around here?

Haven't been to any yet, but I know that as far as steakhouses go there's a Morton's and Outback. Are either one of them good for a steak?

Mike's is very good and very popular. In addition to great steaks, the apps are terrific, the atmosphere is upbeat, and the service is always pleasant and efficient. Definitely a place to try. Go once and you'll go back.

Really any of the Great American Restaurants...I am partial to Artie's, but Mike's is also a good choice. Not Fairfax, but Ray's the Steaks in Arlington is my favorite steak place in the metro DC area and I would suggest the hangar steak which may be the most underrated piece of beef out there.

+1 on Great American Restaurants.

Sweetwater, Silverado or Artie's.

Also try their crabcakes as well.

As usual, Vienna has just what you are looking for. Check out Bazin’s on historic Church Street, just east of Center Street. It’s right along the W&OD Trail. The flatiron steak gives easily with each knife stroke and delivers plenty of beefy goodness in every bite.

Be sure to end your evening with a cup of coffee from Caffe Amouri. Michael Amouri buys the best beans in small batches and roasts them all in house. Sometimes he goes a little dark for my tastes, but if you want a rich, bold cup of something, he’s your man!

You've heard the overblown hype about this dump. Now hear the truth. These folks that own this place are fast buck purveyors of a faulty myth that this place is actually a gem. Maybe if you like to eat in a friggin noisy cafeteria! It has the ambiance of a jail food hall. The food is mass prepared with limited options and pushed out the kitchen at break neck speed to get you out in a hurry! At best a posh Mackie Dee's, the owners are pseudo cook snobs that think they can berate the employees to move faster and get the tables changed before the next "shift" comes in for their meal. Unbelievable. If you want a good restaurant, this "hole in the wall" certainly doesn't qualify. And that, sports fans, is the truth!

Oh, and take your own wine. Go to Total Wine and pick up a nice bottle for around $50-75 and pay the corkage at Ray's. You'll avoid paying the $200/bottle price at Ray's for a decent bottle.

hint: you can do this almost anywhere in VA

All the Outbacks in the area are garbage. For non-chains, Ray's has the best prices and steaks in the area for higher-end places. Fogo de Chao is the best place to go if you're super hungry. Don't fall for the sucker food like the salad bar and just go for the endless offerings of all you can eat steaks!!!

Fred, you ignorant slut. You were too fucking stupid to have known that Bazin's is actually WEST of Center Street and that it is NOT along the W&OD Trail at all. As it would seem that you have never in fact been anywhere near the place, let me assure you as well that it is indeed MUCH BETTER than any eatery in dreary old Falls Church City -- yes, even better than "Meat in a Box". Bazin's is just one small part of the plethora of reasons why folks from all over flock to Vienna to enjoy a fine meal.

Umm, hey there genius, it was Hmmm...(aka you) that wrote where it was located. It wasn't Fred.

As for Bazin's, the food really is so mediocre for a place (and prices) that indicate a higher quality than what you get. Service is horrible- and for those prices it is inexcusable. Ahem- I'll drive a minute or two more elsewhere.

Flemings in Tysons has some great steaks and wine selection. A little pricey, but Costco has those gift cards ($70 for $100 worth of gift cards or something) if you wanna pick those up first. Only sucky part is getting there and parking.

Better check again, Quickdraw. Hmmm... posted the location of Caffe Amouri, which is of course east of Center Street and along the W&OD Trail. Fred, the mega-butthurt Falls Church Fucktard, tried to hijack that, but of course, he fucked it all up, just like always.

LOL! If you can't handle Bazin's prices, there's no place of any quality at all that you can afford. Better just stick with immigrant dumps like Honey Pig and such.

We eat out often and at great restaurants. However, our experience at Bazin's was so awful last night, that I felt compelled to save future diners from the same experience.

We just completed our last trip to Bazin's last night. We won't return. The food was sub par this trip. Or table was awful! The servers kept ramming into my husband's seat. The gave no apologies. There were several available tables in the restaurant but the airhead hostess seemed very uninterested in accommodating us. and there were several other available table options.. In the past, what brought us to Bazin's was their food and extensive wine list. The service has always been below average. Our server last night was better than most but still not great. Look if you are fine with paying $125/person for mediocre service, awful table, and average food. This is your place. So sad, Bazin's you have let yourself go.

With all the great restaurant options now in the Metro DC area, no need to waste your time and money at Bazin's.

It may be the most often misspelled piece of beef out there. They are actually called "hanger" steaks because they hang from the front of the animal's diaphragm. They cost less than cuts from other locations, with hanger meat often being used for fajitas or filleted into lunch-time sandwich steaks. Steak-frites places that use hanger steaks have made quite a mark in recent years, so a once barely recognized cut has become much more well-known among the general public.

Fleming's is a sister-steakhouse to Outback, each of them being operated by Bloomin' Brands out of Tampa, Florida. They run Carrabba's and Bonefish Grill as well, with almost 1,500 locations all in all. As with most anything else though, the best thing to do is try it and see if you like it.

I've found many places use skirt steaks and call them hangers because of the reputation. Skirts can be found in most decent grocery stores.

Is Asshole Spotter the guy that can't hold down a job in the DC area? Just couldn't cut it here?

As for Bazin's, Do not eat there! The food was awful, steak, salmon, and duck. Waiters were rude. I got sick after dinner. My drink was so bad and it was simple martini and if you can not get that right give it up! They do not have General manager for the restaurant and lack skills in running one. A beautiful evening with friends ruined by them. If you want to waste $200 for dinner go for it! I plan on telling everyone how bad it was last night. Now I know what my Vienna needs some NEW restaurants!

Sounds like the same dunce who kept insisting that you could only get from Dunn LOring to Anita's in Vienna by going down Park Street. Seems like he thought there was a lot more construction on Electric Avenue than there actually is.

Ignore any posts about non-steak houses (American restaurants etc.). Also forget about Outback and other lower end chain places, you are bot getting a good steak there.

You need to go to a higher end steak house. Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, Mastro's are all fairly good. I prefer Ruth's Chris because they serve steak od a blazing hot plate which keeps the steak hot as I eat it. Some people don't care about that but I do so that's why I rate them first. The other are all a close second. Very good higher end steak and pricey bit worth it. BLT Steak in DC and STK are good as well as is Prime Rib Steak house.

Never ever order a steak at a chain place like Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, Friday's, Outback etc.

No, he's one of the many who have contributed to the galactic case of butthurt that you suffer from, you sorrty-ass douchebag.

> As for Bazin's, Do not eat there! The food was

Unlike you, I've actually eaten there. Many times. Never a problem, save for it sometimes being a little noisy on a Friday night, which is why I would not usually go there on a Friday night. The food is well designed, well cooked, and well served. The filet and the Chilean sea bass are the only entrees over $30. If you can't handle that, stick to Noodles & Company. It's just a couple of blocks away. You weren't meant for anything more than that anyway.

Whoever they are, they hold all the cards. Your sorry ass performance here has been a total disgrace. But at least you've learned how to spell "hausfrau". LOLOLLOLL! What an illiterate stooge.

Ruth's CHris is a chain place. There are more than a hundred of them.

Ha ha. A flatiron steak is just a top blade from the chuck (more familiar as a chicken fried steak). It's a cheap piece of meat that costs more when it's called a flatiron.

Try Texas Roadhouse. It's inexpensive (Outback/Longhorn prices), but the beef itself is great.

It's not dry aged. It's not grass fed. But I was raised on grain-fed, fresh beef raised, slaughtered, and butchered on an industrial scale. My only hard requirement is that the beef not be previously frozen.

Give it a try. Grass-fed and/or dry-aged beef is an investment, but a night at Texas Roadhouse is just a trip to a restaurant. You don't have to get dressed up. Get a seat at the bar and order your dinner from there. Ignore the stupid birthday yee-haw crap. Watch the games on the TVs if you want, but focus on the beef.

Check where FCPS goes out and eat. They spend a lot of money when they eat out

Is this pussy-ass weakling bothering you people again? Look asswipe, I told you before to pack your scanties into your worthless little bag. Everyone knows that you're just a weakling troll whose sensitive little feelings have been hurt. Too bad for you, ass-munch. Get your fairy-feet moving and haul some loser-ass out of here.

Just bear in mind that anyone who eats, sells, or serves creamed spinach is a fag.

That would be you, Mr. 5:40. Standing watch because you know damned well that your pathetic little sorry-ass is going to get beaten raw. Again. Looks like 2016 is going to be an even worse year for you here than 2015 and 2014 were. What a horrible thought for you! Maybe you should just stick to city-data. Oh, wait...that might mean another confrontation with...........VENDORDUD! And we all know how that last one turned out! Oh, the humanity!

If you missed it earlier, Fleming's is a sister-steakhouse to Outback, each of them being operated by Bloomin' Brands out of Tampa, Florida. They run Carrabba's and Bonefish Grill as well, with almost 1,500 locations all in all. As with most anything else though, the best thing to do is try it and see if you like it. If you find Fleming's to be good enough for you, there's no real reason to go anywhere else.

Just avoid Vienna all together, that ugly town has nothing to offer.

You will have to go to Rays in Arlington or the City of Falls Church for a fine meal.

These are the sorts of inappropriate outbursts that worry mental health professionals. Everyone here realizes that Vienna has many top-notch restaurant options while -- like the fourth Little Piggy -- Falls Church City has none. Yet issues from a severely shriveled ego command this poster to make claims and statements that are completely and transparently contrary to fact. This sort of thing is seen all the time here and to many, it is indeed very troubling. It has caused me to wonder for instance if a 17th Myers-Briggs personality type might not exist -- the IDJT.

At least now we understand why you keep accusing others of using google. Here is the first sentence of a very recent Yelp review by someone from South Riding:

Flemings really exceeded my expectations especially after I found out they were part of the Bloomin' Brands who also operate Outback, Carrabba's and Bonefish.

Hoist with his own petard? Now you can rant about how everyone is obsessed with you. When you keep screwing up in such comical ways, you deserve everything that you get.

Cooked at home!

Cast iron skillet + butter+ a pinch of salt and pepper= mmmmm good. Just let the steak sit at room-temp for awhile before you cook it.

If you like your steak well done- just get some beef jerky and call it a day.

Cook it at home and save your $$$$....

All the people who are actually you are obsessed with me. This is due to the unrelenting burn and butthurt accumulated over the many dozens of your complete crash-and-burn failures here. Beaten to a bloody and resentful pulp time after time after time. Better get busy now, you miserable little assfuck. It's time for you to call in the...

If you don't mind that someone on staff helps themselves to your entree before it is served to you, go to Bazins! Not wanting to ruin the special evening with my husband, I did not complain or show any dissatisfaction that my flounder was clearly 1/4 cut off/removed after being fried and before being served to me--in retrospect I should have complained and sent it back! But truth be told, if that wasn't enough of a disgust--the waitress was cold and, we had to fend off the waitress and runner 5 times from taking our plates and seeming to rush us out. Several days later, I sent a polite letter to the owner, expressing my dismay--and aparantly he has not felt a need to respond.
