Still cheaper than the NJ or PA turnpikes. Thankfully I only have to drive it every so often.

Yea, somehow I don't think the issue here is that commuters drive down the PA or NJ turnpikes only to be happy that the Va. tolls are cheaper.

Sure, why not? Let's burden the out-of-date system with another 40 miles of track to maintain. Eh..while we are at it, let's double the tolls and build it all above ground to help enhance the already beautiful visual blight.

Just wait until the state government enjoys the profits from the HOT lanes on the beltway. (and keeping 90% of the profits in Richmond.)

Once they start making money off of gridlock, you can bet everything they do from that day forward will only contribute to more gridlock.

And of course, at some point they'll sell it to a private, probably spanish company, who will then raise rates even higher and still demand taxpayer money to maintain it.
